• The leading cases that Mr. LI handled include, representing Agricultural Bank of China in its successful appeal to PRC Supreme Court in its dispute with Hyosung (HK) Ltd. and China Ocean Shipping Agency Company, Fangcheng Branch over release of cargo without production of bills of lading (reported in Gazette of the Supreme Court, No.2 of 2003) , and representing nine European cargo insurance companies including ACE Group Ltd. in their subrogation claims against Lianyungang Cosfar International Shipping Co., Ltd. and Shanghai Cosfar International Shipping Co., Ltd. in relation to voyage charter disputes before Shanghai Maritime Court, Shanghai High Court and finally PRC Supreme Court for retrial (reported in Gazette of the Supreme Court, No.8 of 2011). In addition, Mr. LI represented London P&I Club in handling a cargo claim involving a substantial amount which was widely reported (m/v “Ino” case). Currently, Mr. LI is representing a major state-owned grain and oil refinery group in Chongqing in its two significant marine insurance claims arising from heating damages over carriage of soybean from Brail to China. Mr. LI also represented PRC feeding companies in handling London GAFTA arbitration over international sales of large commodity of grains.
