BNRSC Attended the "China-Latam Infra Summit & Week 2019"

From August 5 to 6, 2019, the "4th China-Latin America Infrastructure Summit and Week 2019" was successfully held in Beijing. This summit is jointly sponsored by China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), GRI Club Infra Latam, China-LAC Cooperation Fund, and co-sponsored by DeHeng Law Offices and Brazil L.O.Baptista Law Firm. More than 100 government representatives, entrepreneurs and financial peers from China and Latin American countries such as Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Panama and Argentina attended the meeting.图片

On August 6, as the co-sponsor of this summit, Jia Hui, partner of DeHeng Law Offices and Secretary-General of the Belt and Road Service Connections (BNRSC),  attended the "Belt and Road Initiative 2.0 Era" forum, who was entrusted by Dr. Wang Li, Director of the BNRSC, and gave opinions on the higher and deeper level of Sino-Latin American relations under the Belt and Road Initiative with his own case experience. Jiao Xiaoping, Government and Social Capital Cooperation (PPP) Center, Carsten Hasbach, Siemens also attended the forum and shared their views on how to promote economic and social development in Latin America and pragmatic cooperation between China and Latin America. 
Secretary-General Jia Hui started with investment cases serving Latin American countries and introduced the outstanding cooperation achievements in infrastructure between China and Latin America. He believed that the in-depth cooperation in transportation, trade and logistics, storage facilities, energy and electricity, water conservancy construction and other fields will be of great potential in the future. However, he also said that most of enterprises investing in Latin American countries are facing the huge and urgent demand for professional services in finance, accounting, taxation, environment, consulting and other fields just like other countries participated in the Belt and Road initiative. In 2015, the BNRSC was launched in Milan, Italy, led by her and jointly founded by Italy CBA law, and Association of Chinese and Foreign Chambers of Commerce. The main tasks of the BNRSC are to serve project docking, risk resolution, and dispute resolution. Secretary-General Jia Hui introduced the International Commercial Mediation Center for the Belt and Road (BNRMC) and its online mediation system, comprised by the mediators from the Belt and Road participating countries. Such a global on-line mediation system makes such an organic unified dispute resolution mechanism in a more convenient and universal way to present the people of the world, serving the global commercial subject to apply. As of June 30, 2019, the BNRMC has accepted nearly 500 civil and commercial cases (including foreign-related cases) , with a mediation success rate of 65%.

On round table discussion session in the afternoon, Mauricio Martin of BNP PARIBAS presided over the meeting. Fan Xiwen, chief risk officer of China-Latin Cooperation Fund, Jose Virgilio Enei of Machado Meyer Advogados Law Firm, and representatives of the Bank of China and other participants jointly discussed the ways of financing and cooperation between China and Latin America. Starting with exchange rate risks averse, this session has thoroughly analyzed the exchange rate risk management mode, investment preference, investment environment, exit strategy, instruments selection, open financial network and other issues in Brazil and Latin America and how to promote China and Latin America to achieve win-win cooperation in financial investment.图片
The summit held a two-day forum in Beijing from August 5 to 6, with forums and rounds of round-table discussions on the themes of "China-Latin America Relations Forum" and "Belt and Road Initiative 2.0 Era Forum". The event was full of content, novel in form, full of discussions and unique in opinions. All the participants highly praised the effect of the event and the large amount of investment information. They fully discussed China's investment and financing prospects and opportunities in Latin American countries' on electricity, oil and natural gas, ports, railways, highways, airports, water resources and social infrastructure, etc.
The China-Latin America Infra Summit & Week 2019 is an important platform specially built for infrastructure constructors in Latin America and China. It focuses on consolidating the links between investors, operators, lenders, local governments and other influential participants to meet and establish long-term partnerships, explore cross-border investment opportunities and achieve the ultimate goal of promoting the development of local infrastructure markets.
